SBI says Ukrainian MiG-29 crashed in Vinnytsia Oblast after hitting debris from destroyed drone
The SBI said that the plane crashed on Oct. 12 at approximately 9:00 p.m. near the village of Turbiv.
According to preliminary reports, the pilot of the warplane had been on a combat mission to destroy Russian UAVs.
He managed to shoot down five Shahed-136 kamikaze drones.

“According to one version of the investigation, near the village of Turbiv, during the destruction of another target, fragments from a downed enemy drone hit the cockpit of the Ukrainian plane,” the SBI said.
The pilot managed to steer the jet towards a field to avoid large-scale destruction and casualties among the civilian population. He managed to eject and is now being treated in a military hospital.
There were no casualties among the civilian population, the SBI said.
