SBU head describes Russian troops’ attack on civilian convoy in Kharkiv Oblast

The crime is currently under investigation by the SBU, Malyuk said.

He said that in late September, the Russian military utterly obliterated a convoy of seven cars. Twenty people were killed in total. Several people were rescued after the attack and are now cooperating with investigators.

"A subversive reconnaissance group of Russian troops carried out a barbaric attack against civilians, shooting at close range a six-year-old passenger, cars and one truck,” Malyuk said.

“The enemy has repeatedly demonstrated that its objective is to eliminate all Ukrainians, regardless of age or gender.”

The precise number of deceased and their identities are currently being established, and the appropriate examinations are being carried out. The SBU says it has collected extensive documentation and evidence about Russian war crimes for the International Criminal Court.

Prosecutors from the SBU are investigating the attack on the civilians in Kharkiv Oblast under Part 2 of Article 438 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code (violation of the laws and customs of war combined with intentional homicide).
