This SC beach ranked among best in the US in 2023 by TripAdvisor. Here’s why it’s great

Every year, TripAdvisor releases their ‘Traveler’s Choice’ Award for best beaches and one South Carolina beach made the list for 2023.

The popular travel site’s “Travelers’ Choice Best of the Best winners” were all selected based on reviews and ratings collected over the past 12 months. So, if you contributed to any of these ratings, your opinions were considered during the process.

This year, this list of the “best of the best” beaches was released to include 25 different beaches around the country.

Can you guess which beach was the only one selected from the Palmetto State?

Coligny Beach on Hilton Head Island was chosen for the annual award and was ranked 12th in the nation among the 25 selected beaches.

On TripAdvisor, the beach has 4,271 reviews as of May 25, as well as a 4.5 ranking and listed as sixth out of 77 for best things to do on Hilton Head Island.

Many raving reviews each individually rank the beach as a 5/5 and cite the beach’s beauty, free and ample parking, aesthetic and amenities all as favorable qualities despite the summer crowds.

Aside from the bench swings, sculptures, restrooms, shower areas and water fountains for kids to play in at Coligny Beach Park, across the street is Coligny Plaza, where families can stroll through several shops and enjoy the nearby restaurants after a long day in the sun or during an afternoon rain shower.

As for the other beaches that were selected for the 2023 Travelers’ Choice Award, one even included a neighboring state. These beaches included:
