SC man arrested for littering hate flyers also owner of ‘Slave Leia’ bikinis. What we know

To residents in a Murrells Inlet neighborhood, Jamin Christian Fite is an alleged litterer of antisemitic flyers. But to some Star Wars fans — he’s a self-proclaimed “infamous slave master.”

Fite, 47, of Myrtle Beach, was arrested earlier this month for allegedly littering plastic baggies that contained hate messages.

Fite did not respond to a request for comment made by the Sun News and was not at home when a reporter went to the address listed as his home.

It appears he is the creator of the “Slave Leia” metal bikini, which is based on the Princess Leia character from “Star Wars.” A review of his online profile shows that he’s been selling the costumes, which are heavily used in the cosplay community, since at least 2012 under the business title “Leia’s Metal Bikini.

Fite has also appeared at events such as “Star Wars Celebration,” posing with women modeling the bikini, online searches show.

It’s unclear if he still sells the costumes, as the latest online post is from 2019.

Fite was arrested July 3 for littering after Horry County officers allegedly caught him with duffel bags of flyers that match the description of antisemitic flyers found across the county last year.

It’s unclear if he has spread such flyers in the past.

Officers confronted Fite at the corner of Adare Court and Seville Drive, and witnessed him throwing out a clear plastic baggie containing paper and pellets, according to a police report.

He was released from jail on July 3 after paying a $200 bond.

Fite has a court date set for Aug. 7. He has no previous criminal history in Horry County, according to court records.

The Horry County Police Department did not respond when asked if additional charges were expected.

He has been accused in the past of antisemitic talk

It’s not the first time Fite has been accused of antisemitic acts.

“Star Wars” fans have taken to social media over the years, including Reddit, Tumblr and Facebook, claiming Fite is a “Holocaust denier” and a “Neo-Nazi.”

Posts show that Fite has shared Holocaust denial videos and allegedly wore a German WWII officer dress tuxedo to a public event.

Two “Star Wars” costume organizations that frequently participate in charity events — Rebel Legion and 501st Legion — did not respond to a request for comment regarding Fite’s participation in area events.

‘Slave Leia’ costume well-known among fans

Actress Carrie Fisher, who played Princess Leia in the “Star Wars” film series, wore the iconic costume in the 1983 film, “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.”

The outfit, a copper patterned bra with a copper plate as the bottom, has become a popular choice among fans of the series.

The costume is sold on many online platforms.
