SC has one of 10 best food halls in the US for 2023, USA Today says. Here’s why it’s great

Gather GVL was recently chosen as one of the best food halls in the U.S. this year by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The Greenville outdoor food court ranked sixth out of the top 10 food halls in the country. The food hall was nominated, with readers choosing it ahead of similar businesses in Nashville, Baltimore, San Diego and San Antonio.

“As the name implies, Gather is a food hall that wants to bring people together,” USA Today states.

Composed of colorful shipping containers at the west end of downtown at 126 Augusta St., Gather features at least a dozen different vendors that offer a wide variety of food, from pizza and sushi, to tacos and chicken. And almost all of the vendors have a vegan and or gluten-free option.

The food hall also has a full bar and vendors that serve craft beer, frozen wine drinks, mimosas and cocktails.

The majority of seating is first come, first serve. However, the food hall does have three VIP areas that can be reserved — the stage downstairs and the lookout and the den that are upstairs. Customers can also host private events for between 20 and 125 people.

The food hall provides live entertainment on Thursday nights and Sunday afternoons. In addition to live music, there are pop up events, community events and more.

Gather is open all year round, with heaters in the winter and big fans in the summer. There’s even complimentary wifi.
