Scarlett's The Perfect Pin-Up & 12 Other Best-Dressed Stars This Week

So this week gave us the gift of the2012 White House Correspondents Dinner, where wemostlysee some of tackier dressers and Washington’s most conservative dressers really bring it in a big way. We also, unfortunately, saw some disasters. And though we might come off a little prudish in our assessment, we have nothing against flaunting what you got. But sometimes, you’re just half-naked. Which is never a good look.

From sequins done right to a surprising H&M spotting and an extra-flattering take on themiracle dress, here are the celebs who got it right this week. Click through to see our picks and tell us if you agree!

Then be sure to check out our picks forthis week's worst-dressed.

Kate Upton

Kate Upton like we've never seen her before: Covered up. The slicked-back hair gives her an air of formality. We're champions of long-sleeved gowns, especially in the age of strapless. The blush tone beautifully plays off her skin color and blonde hair. 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Kim Kardashian

Admittedly, we find the reality star overexposed in more ways than one. But this structured mini-dress plays up her best features in a subtle way. The black-and-white pattern is also a nice departure from her typical brights. New York, April 30 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Jennifer Lopez

The singer and "American Idol" judge offered a surrealist nod with that bejeweled snake around her neck. It was a risk, but it works. Hollywood, April 30 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Kelly Osbourne

Good variation on the "<a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2012/02/14/the-miracle-dress-fall-2012_n_1273988.html" target="_hplink">miracles dress</a>"--usually overscaled plaids can have the unfortunate effect of making the wearer seem shall we say larger-than-life. But the black silhouette detailing makes this bold pattern super-wearable and figure-flattering. New York, April 30 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Ginnifer Goodwin

Who knew H&M could look so chic? Yes, the gorgeous actress is indeed wearing <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/30/ginnifer-goodwin-hm-dress-white-house-correspondents-dinner_n_1465214.html" target="_hplink">a $299 H&M gown</a>. We love the cascading ruffles offset by a minimalist top and belt. You don't even need any jewelry! 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Kate Hudson

Sequins can go wrong in so many ways, but Kate gets it right. The dress fits like a glove, the long sleeve detailing eliminates the need for any jewelry. And the deep plum is an unexpected alternative to black. 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Kerry Washington

Here's proof that celebs should wear pretty much nothing but Calvin on the red carpet. We can even overlook the baggy arms/slumped shoulders (our theory is that shoulder pads were removed). The peach color makes the "Scandal" actress look luminous. 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Norah O'Donnell

A surprising look for the CBS Chief White House Correspondent. The acid yellow is like sunshine. The high neck creates a graceful line with what we call "Gwyneth sleeves" (longer than a cap but structured with a shoulder pad). 2012 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Sarah Jones

We're not exactly sure who she is (<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Jones_(screen_actress)" target="_hplink">Wikipedia says</a>: "Actress") but we know what we like. And that's a strapless jumpsuit. It gives you the silhouette of the dress, but the waistline adds extra structure so that the neckline doesn't pull down. Scarlett Johansson

This is a modern (and modest!) take on pin-up glam. She looks a lot like the starlets of the bygone era--the pencil skirt, a fitted curve-huffing top that covers the cleavage and the retro platform pumps. But the best accessory? Her genuine smile. Hollywood, May 2 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Eva Mendes

Eva has been doing demure <a href="http://www.stylelist.com/2012/05/02/eva-mendes-style_n_1468726.html" target="_hplink">very well lately</a>. The buttercream yellow emphasizes her best feature--her gorgeous skin. While the pattern could've gone very tablecloth-esque, it's understated enough to look right on a dress. The straps of the shoes, the belt and the detailed neckline add architecture to the look. Los Angeles, May 2 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Angie Harmon

Yet another case of "Angelegging" in the wild, this time on Angie Harmon. Despite that, the leg cut-out and low neckline keep the draped dress sexy. The sky blue color suits the actress stunningly. Los Angeles, May 2 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)

Dita Von Teese

In this day and age, when do we ever see anyone dress up for the airport? The burlesque artist certainly knows how to dress for an occasion--and her figure. The draping of the dress and coat give her an air of importance. Bonus points for carrying a hatbox in the year 2012. London, April 30 (Photo Credit: Getty Images)
