Scary good: Fake fire Halloween decoration convinces neighbors to call 911 in California

It’s got people fired up.

A California couple’s Halloween decoration fire is so realistic that people have called 911 five separate times to report an actual fire, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Travis and Carmen Long of Riverside, Calif., started their “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed masterpiece three years ago, local ABC affiliate KABC reported. This year’s addition included an inferno in the windows.

Riverside has even sent a fire engine to the Longs' house once, among all the fire reports, according to the Times. Now, the city has made a note that it’s “the house that everybody thinks is on fire but actually is not."

Instead, firefighters have congratulated the Longs on their impressive blaze, KABC reported. As many as 400 people show up each night to watch their décor display.

Carmen Long told KABC that they’re happy to “bring a little bit of Halloween joy for everyone.”
