Scattered power outages reported around Florida. Here's what we know
Close to 6,000 power outages were reported across Florida early Thursday morning.
The majority of the outages were reported in Lake County, with 5,300 outages as of 6:30 a.m. By 7:30 a.m., the number had been reduced to 2,880.

By 8 a.m., customers in Volusia County were seeing outages, with more than 750 without power.
There were 417 power outages reported in Polk County.

Are there any severe storms in the forecast for Florida?
A cold front responsible for Wednesday's storm chances is expected to push into Central and South Florida today through Friday, bringing localized storms, according to the Florida Public Radio Emergency Network.
Showers and lightning storms will be isolated over the coastal counties early this afternoon, mainly west ofInterstate 95. From mid to late afternoon, the chance for showers and storms will shift inland along the Atlantic sea breeze, with scattered coverage expected over the interior counties, according to the National Weather Service, Melbourne.
An isolated strong storm or two will be possible over interior, mainly in and near Lake County. Wind gusts to 50 mph, hail up to 1 inch in diameter, frequent lightning and torrential downpours will be possible.
Slightly cooler temperatures are forecast across the Panhandle and North Florida during this time, but temperatures are forecast to climb by the weekend.
