Long-term projects
— There will be a long-term traffic pattern on Hazleton Street (state Route 2003) in Ashley for abutment and wing repair work under the Interstate 81 bridge. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of December 2022.
— A concrete pavement preservation project is underway on interstates 80 and 81 in Luzerne County. The project, which covers several miles on each roadway, will address distressed concrete roadway pavement by replacing damaged and broken slabs where necessary and diamond grinding for ride quality. The project began June 20 on Interstate 80 East near the Columbia County line. Temporary lane closures are planned throughout the project, with the contractor working Monday through Thursday into November. All lanes will be open at the end of each workday and on weekends.
All work depends on weather conditions.
