RICHMOND, Ind. — Centerville baseball’s player of the week, without a doubt, had to be Keegen Schlotterbeck.

The senior kicked off last week pitching 5.2 innings, striking out seven batters and allowing zero earned runs against Wapahani, the No. 1 team in Class 2A. He also blasted a home run and drove in three runs at the plate in that game. He followed that performance with a three-hit, three-RBI game against Tri-Eastern Conference foe Northeastern. After that, a six-hit, seven-RBI day during a doubleheader against Cowan.

Schlotterbeck had a week full of games players dream of, but none of them could earn him the honor of Centerville baseball’s single-game performance of the week.

Schlotterbeck had four hits, including a pair of doubles, and four RBIs in the Bulldogs’ first game against Cowan, but fellow senior Jamari Pamplin one-upped him in the second game.

Pamplin picked up four hits, and three of them were crushed over the fence for home runs. The Bulldogs had hit two homers all season, and Pamplin surpassed that mark himself in just one game. Six of Centerville’s 14 runs that game came off Pamplin’s bat. Schlotterbeck still had a good game — a couple hits and three RBIs — but Pamplin stole the show.
