From the school: The student is a very proud member of the school and community, who exudes all the traits of a leader. He devotes himself to his work, his community and his family. He is equally involved in school and community activities and excels in everything that he does. The student will be tremendously successful moving forward and is humbled by any recognition given to him. He consistently deflects his accolades to the support of his school, family and friends, which is a trait many of his peers do not possess.

What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?

The accomplishment that I am most proud of would be receiving this distinction. The reason that I am so proud of it is because I would not have gotten this award, or attained such high levels of academics, if it wasn't for the people who pushed me to do well. Those of which being my family, friends and teachers who have always been supportive of my decisions and motives. This pride is because I know I have done well by the people who have put in the effort to see me succeed and get me here, and to me that is truly the best feeling.

What were your most rewarding school or community activities?

My most rewarding school activity would be Unified Track and Field and my most rewarding community activity would be Boy Scouts. The reason that I have found Unified Track and Field to be so rewarding is because I have seen the unmeasurable value of the joy you can bring other students, by simply giving them a little bit of your time. I chose BSA to be my other most rewarding activity because it has given me the opportunity to get involved with my community and really get to make interpersonal connections with people from all walks of life.

Do you have any hobbies?

My favorite pastime is biking. I have always found the feeling of getting on a bike and just letting all your emotions fade as one of the best feelings you can get. The most enjoyable part about biking to me is that you can do it by yourself or with your friends, and no matter which you chose, it is guaranteed to be a good time.

What do you see yourself doing and where do you see yourself living in 15 years?

I see myself either being in the Air Force as an officer through the Wilkes-Barre AFROTC detachment or working out in the field for a company that requires geographical/geological analytics.

Who do you most admire and why?

I most admire my father, Gregg Davis. He is a hardworking, God loving and extremely knowledgeable person. The numerous things in life that he has taught me, whether it be directly or indirectly, have had an enormous impact on who I am as a person and student. His morals have directly mirrored onto myself and his amazing parenting has built me up into a well-rounded and well-disciplined individual. I am extremely grateful for all he has done for me and will continue to do for me in the future.

Finish this sentence: The most interesting thing about me is ...

I know the Latin names of most of the trees in my area.

What advice do you have for younger students?

The biggest advice I could give would be do what makes you happy. If you want to succeed in school then find people who are like-minded and make friends with them. However, if you want to be the best mechanic or the best music performer, then surround yourself with individuals who share similar aspirations.

What lessons have you learned from growing up in Northeast Pennsylvania?

I have learned the value of the outdoors and the togetherness that comes from being a functional member of the community. The best part of Northeast Pennsylvania is that where I live everyone knows everyone, and that's a type of togetherness you can't find anywhere else.
