A driver suffered minor injuries Tuesday after a Salem Keizer school bus driver carrying children rear-ended a car and pushed it into a tree, police said.

Salem Police and medics responded to the crash around 9:13 a.m. on Sunnyview Road NE, said Lt. Debbie Aguilar, a spokesperson for the police department.

Aguilar said the bus driver rear-ended a Chevrolet Tahoe while it was stopped on Sunnyview near 32nd Avenue NE, pushing it into a nearby tree.

The driver of the Tahoe suffered minor injures, but was not taken to the hospital.

The children on the bus were uninjured and were picked up by another bus to take them to school, Aguilar said. The bus driver was also uninjured but taken to the hospital for observation.

This is a developing story.
