School districts respond to Gov. Newsom's vaccine mandate for K-12 students

KCRA 3 reached out to the Elk Grove Unified School District and the Sacramento City Unified School District for comment in response to Gov. Gavin Newsom's vaccine mandate for students K-12. "The reality is, COVID is still a threat in our community," said Sacramento City Unified Superintendent Jorge Aguilar. "We have a lot of challenges. Low vaccination rates among adults [and] among our teenagers who are eligible ... Our board has been considering this issue as well."
