School In White Plains To Go Fully Remote For 2 Weeks
WHITE PLAINS, NY — A positive test for the new coronavirus has prompted the White Plains Public Schools to switch all students and staff at Post Road Elementary School to remote learning until Oct. 28.
The transition took place immediately, officials said in a post on the district's website.
A member of the school community tested positive for the virus, the district learned Wednesday.
Instruction will be delivered to Post Road Elementary School students using the district's fully remote learning model.
The school's faculty and students have been notified. Faculty will be in touch with their students and their families to discuss classwork.
Health privacy laws restrict the district from disclosing or confirming any personal information that could identify the individual.
The Westchester Department of Health will reach out to all contacts and advise on the need to quarantine and arrange testing of anyone who may have been exposed.
