Schools across the county receive shooting, bomb threats

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s officials reported that on Tuesday morning, multiple agencies across the county received similar calls of threats on school grounds. The Barstow Police Department also reported a bomb threat at one school.

Sheriff’s officials said each call had been a hoax; however, officers and detectives have remained on campuses conducting investigations.

The Sheriff's Department said they are aware of calls to area schools regarding reports of gunfire. Deputies have responded to all locations and have secured and cleared the schools.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta told the Daily Press that the department did not receive any false reports for schools in Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, or the rest of the Victor Valley.

Inland Empire

Sheriff’s Dispatch received calls reporting an active shooter at Alta Loma High School in Rancho Cucamonga and San Andreas High School in San Bernardino.

Deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Station and Highland Station, as well as officers from San Bernardino Police and San Bernardino City Unified Police, immediately responded to their respective schools.

Both schools were secured, and a thorough search was conducted. All staff and students were safe, and the reports were determined to be false.

Barstow

The Barstow Police Department reported that at approximately 9:32 a.m., officers were dispatched to Barstow Junior High School regarding a threat of a bomb on school grounds.

Officers and detectives searched the entire school campus and found no evidence of a bomb. Two Marine Corps Logistics Basepolice bomb detection canine teams searched the school and found no device.
