Schools announce Jan. 18 closures, delays after weekend weather

West Tennessee school districts have been announcing school closures for Tuesday after the weekend weather that brought ice and snow to the region.

Closures

With most citing hazardous road conditions, the following schools have closed for Tuesday, Jan. 18:

  • Benton County Schools

  • Hardeman County Schools

  • Hardin County Schools

  • McNairy County Schools

    • The district will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday because illness and continued weather conditions.

Delayed start

  • Fayette County Public Schools

    • Buses will be running an hour later than their usual schedule.

  • University School of Jackson

    • Carpool will start at 9:10 a.m., and students should be in class no later than 9:30 a.m.

    • Early bird will be available at 7:15 a.m.
