Schools push back football game kickoffs because of heat

Friday is set for a brutal day of heat across North Carolina, according to Severe Weather Center 9′s meteorologists, and the extreme heat is having an impact on local student-athletes.

Temperatures could soar near 100 degrees Friday, and the humidity is going to make it feel even worse.

FORECAST: Heat comes back in full force with temperatures nearing triple-digits

“You’ve got to stay focused because in that scorching heat, it does take time off your focus,” Bandys High School defensive lineman Delson Hillier told Channel 9′s Dave Faherty.
