Schools are reopening. Here's a list for Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard districts

Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect a corrected date. Falmouth begins school Sept. 5. Also, the Truro school opening for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten was added.

Students are getting themselves mentally prepared for classes on Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard as principals, teachers and other staff prepare classrooms for the upcoming academic year. Each public school district sets its own academic calendar. Below is a district-by-district schedule of when schools will open. Also included are links to each school district's website where school bus schedules are posted.

When does school start on Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket?

Barnstable Public Schools: Grades 1-12, Wednesday Aug. 30; pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Bourne Public Schools: Grades 1-12, Tuesday Aug. 29; kindergarten, Wednesday, Aug. 30; pre-kindergarten, Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District: Wednesday, Sept. 6

Falmouth Public Schools: Grades 1-12, Tuesday, Sept. 5; pre-kindergarten, Monday, Sept 11.

Mashpee Public Schools: Grades 1-12, Wednesday, Aug. 30; pre-kindergarten and kindergarten, Thursday, Aug. 31.

Monomoy Regional School District (Chatham and Harwich): Grades 1-12, Tuesday, Sept. 5; kindergarten, Thursday, Sept. 7.

Nauset Regional School District (Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, Wellfleet): Grades K-12 Thursday, Sept. 7; pre-kindergarten, Wednesday, Sept. 13.

Provincetown Public Schools: Tuesday, Sept. 5.

Sandwich Public Schools: Grades 1-12, Tuesday, Sept. 5; Kindergarten, Thursday, Sept. 7 and pre-kindergarten Monday, Sept. 11.

Truro Central School: Grades 1-5, Tuesday, Sept. 5; Kindergarten and pre-kindergarten, Thursday, Sept. 7.

Nantucket Public Schools: Grades 1-12, Tuesday, Sept. 5; Kindergarten, Thursday, Sept. 7 and pre-kindergarten Monday, Sept. 11.

Martha’s Vineyard Public Schools: Tuesday, Sept. 5.
