SCHS: Finley hopes to warm the hearts of a new family

Jul. 20—The heat is here for the summer, and our guest for Take Out Tuesday in Finley looks to add to that and warm the hearts of a new family soon.

Finley is nearly three years old and is a pit bull terrier mixed breed available for adoption through Stephens County Humane Society (SCHS). She is the sister of our previous guest, Sadie, who was adopted through another family.

Upon my arrival at the Stephens County Humane Society, it seemed Finley was ready to get out of the heat for a few hours and was excited to go on a trip.

In the car, I learned Finley was taught to not get on furniture, so she chose to ride on the floor.

Finley was well received when we arrived to the office and many of the staff members quickly realized the family connection to Sadie.

The difference between Sadie and Finley, however, was our guest from Tuesday loved every single treat and made sure to eat every single bite given to her.

Finley relaxed throughout the day, nibbling burgers and treats until it was time to make our saunter over to our neighbors at R&S, who were more than happy to see Finley.

Finley, when around new people, seems to kind of cower at first, but once she gets familiar with the person, it is all love and happiness around the entire room.
