Schuyler County Public Health to hand out free toothbrushes this month

SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WETM) – Schuyler County Public Health will be celebrating Children’s Dental Health Month this February by handing out free toothbrushes at local libraries and a food pantry, as well as hosting an online campaign to promote dental hygiene.

The free toothbrushes will be handed out during interactive story hours on a variety of dates at the following locations:

  • Dutton Library- Feb.13 at 10 a.m.

  • Montour Falls Library- Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.

  • Watkins Glen Library Feb. 28 at 10 a.m.

The health department will also hand out toothbrushes at the Hector Food Pantry on Feb. 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

In addition to handing out free toothbrushes, Schuyler Public Health will also be hosting an online campaign called the Schuyler Floss Challenge.

Residents of Schuyler County are encouraged to post a picture or video that highlights flossing their teeth or their “flossing dance” skills using the hashtag #SchuylerFlossChallenge and tagging Schuyler County Public Health.
