Schuylkill County offices schedule Saturday hours for license to carry; fishing, hunting and other licenses

Jul. 13—Treasurer Linda Yeich, Register of Wills Theresa Santai Gaffney and Sheriff Joseph G. Groody will have hours from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for county citizens to purchase hunting, fishing and dog licenses; to renew or apply for a license to carry firearms; or to apply for a marriage license.

The fee for a concealed carry license is $20 and is payable with cash, check, money order or credit card (with minimal fee). Current license holders can renew up to 60 days before the expiration date.

Applicants must be 21 or older and must provide a valid Pennsylvania driver's license or a Pennsylvania identification card with the applicant's current address.

In addition, applicants must provide the name, full address and phone number of two references, who cannot be family members.

Applications will be processed and mailed to the applicant's home address.

To complete an application online, visit the Schuylkill County Sheriff's Office website. For more information, call the office at 570-628-1440.

Hunting licenses must be obtained in the treasurer's office for disabled veterans.

For doe tag sales, which began Monday, the treasurer's office asks that all customer identification numbers be written on checks or money orders.

Yeich also asks that people not call the office to check on the status of an application but instead visit https://huntfish.pa.gov.

She also reminds residents that dogs 3 months and older are required to be licensed.

Lifetime licenses can only be purchased at the treasurer's office for any dog microchipped.

Applicants must present paperwork within a 30-day period from the vet completing the permanent identification verification form.
