Scioto Trail State Park to hold Harvest Days event

CHILLICOTHE — Scioto Trail State Park invites everyone to join in on celebrating Harvest Days. The two-day event will take place on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 at the park. Here is a complete look at the schedule of events.

Those camping are reminded to display their scarecrow on the edge of the campsite for the Scarecrow Decorating Contest. Three prizes will be awarded for best overall, funniest and most original.

Friday, Sept. 22

  • 5 p.m.- Fall craft with Naturalist Sami at the log church

  • 6 p.m.- Demonstration from Ross County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Marsha Smith and K9 Deputy Zeena at the amphitheater

Saturday, Sept. 23

10 a.m.- Adult cornhole competition

10 a.m. - 2 p.m.- Harvest Kidzone

10 a.m.- 3 p.m.- Harvest Days Market

10 a.m.- 3 p.m.- Photo-op with cow

10 a.m.- 3 p.m.- Blacksmith demonstrations

10 a.m.- 3 p.m.- Hayride with Smokey the Bear

11 a.m. - 12 p.m.- ODNR K9 Demonstration

1 p.m.- Kid archery competition

2 p.m.- Old-fashioned games

3 p.m.- Adult/child canoe race

4 p.m.- Adult archery competition

7:30 p.m.- Ohio State University Football viewing party
