Scooter Braun says 'kindness is the only response' amid Taylor Swift drama

Scooter Braun has seemingly responded to his ongoing drama with Taylor Swift.

After Swift publicly decried Braun and Big Machine label head Scott Borchetta for allegedly blocking her from performing her old songs at the upcoming American Music Awards this weekend, the producer shared an interesting message on Instagram. The post was a simple motto that read, "Kindness is the only response." Braun noted those are "words to live by."

Braun, who manages Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato, has been Swiftie enemy No. 1 — along with Borchetta — since purchasing Big Machine earlier this year. Braun's acquisition gave him the rights to Swift's master recordings prior to when she exited the label in 2018. That means he owns her hits like "Love Story," "Shake It Off," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "You Belong With Me." Swift was heartbroken when she learned the news, and accused Braun of "bullying" her for years. Last week, she put Braun and Borchetta on blast once again.

"Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun have now said that I'm not allowed to perform my old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before I'm allowed to next year," she claimed in a lengthy post about the behind-the-scenes battle.

Borchetta and Big Machine pushed back at Swift's "false information," but Braun stayed quiet. Instead, it seems his team is working to remove him from this narrative.

"Scooter is frustrated because his name is being dragged in the mud," a Braun source shared with E! News. "He doesn't run Big Machine or have operational control of company. He hasn't taken part in these negotiations."

The insider said he tried reaching out to Swift, who won't return his calls. "This fight with Taylor is not something Scooter agrees with," added the source.

Big Machine released a confusing statement on Monday, announcing an agreement had been reached to allow Swift to perform her own songs on Sunday. Swift is set to accept the first-ever Artist of the Decade award at the AMAs. It's unclear if her performance will end up featuring any older songs, or whether the medley will strictly be off her most recent album, "Lover."
