Scoring 3 TDs and running 240 yards, this player led his Tri-Cities team to top of SE 1B

Charlie Branning continued his torrid pace of running the football, leading the host Liberty Christian Patriots to a 58-14 Southeast 1B victory over Garfield-Palouse on Saturday at Kamiakin High School.

Branning carried the ball 10 times for 239 yards of rushing and three touchdowns. He also had 2 catches for 22 yards.

Teammate Silas Bjur added 4 rushes for 62 yards.

Defensively, Levi Idler led the Patriots with 9 tackles (one for loss) and an interception; while Addison Lyle had 8 tackles and an interception that he returned 42 yards.=

CONNELL 57, COLLEGE PLACE 14: The host Eagles rolled up the yardage and points in the 1A South Central Athletic Conference East Division opened for both schools on Friday night.

Jackson Forsyth rushed 14 times for 159 yards and three touchdowns for Connell.

Eagles quarterback Carson Lloyd was 8 for 11 passing for 200 yards and five touchdown passes.

Carson Riner caught three of those passes for 76 yards and two scores.

Forsyth led Connell’s defense with 8 tackles (1 for loss) and an interception.

ROYAL 45, WAHLUKE 0: The top-ranked Knights rolled to another victory — this one the 1A SCAC East opener — as Lance Allred again dominated.

Allred was 14 for 16 passing for 287 yards and four TD passes.

Case Christensen was his main target, as he caught 4 passes for 87 yards and three touchdowns.

Royal defensive end Juan Morales and linebacker Nathan Niebla spearheaded the Knights’ defensive effort.

Morales had 10 tackles (3 for loss) and a quarterback sack; Niebla added 10 tackles (1 for loss) and a QB sack.

COLUMBIA BURBANK 59, MABTON 0: Elijah Kinsey scored seven touchdowns, all on runs, to lead the visiting Coyotes to a 2B Eastern Washington Athletic Conference victory on Saturday.

Kinsey finished the day with 11 carries for 246 yards of rushing.

Burbank quarterback Logan Beck tossed two touchdown passes, while Coyotes defensive back Brandon Leahy intercepted two passes.

PROSSER 7, ELLENSBURG 0: In Ellensburg on Friday night, Isaac Reyna led the visiting Mustangs’ defensive unit with three interceptions.

Prosser held Ellensburg’s defense to just 157 yards of total offense. The Bulldogs D held Prosser to just 182 yards.

Prosser’s Jacob Rainer scored on a 1-yard run for the contest’s lone touchdown in the fourth quarter for the 2A Central Washington Athletic Conference victory.

Mustangs QB Kory McClure was 12 for 26 for 90 passing yards, and he also rushed 4 times for 35 yards.

OTHELLO 42, GRANDVIEW 0: Tucker Santeria had 91 yards passing and 31 more rushing, but it wasn’t enough as the Greyhounds lost to Othello in a 2A CWAC game.

Matthew Magana led Grandview defensively with 10 tackles (3 for loss) and three hurries.
