Scorpios, you're the worst at getting vaccinated. These are the zodiac signs doing it better.

Does your zodiac sign influence your likelihood of getting vaccinated?

Probably not.

But that didn't stop health officials in Utah from investigating vaccination status by astrological sign, finding that vaccination rates varied widely by star sign.

And the news didn't bode well for Scorpios.

At the top spot were Leos with a 70% vaccination rate and Aquarius at 67%. At the bottom were Virgos at 50% with Scorpios in last place at 46%.

Three of the top four signs are fire signs, which astrologer Anne Nordhaus-Bike said "makes sense."

"Fire signs want to lead the charge," said the Chicago-based astrologer, who goes by the name Astrologer Anne. "They get fired up with enthusiasm."

Aiming to encourage more vaccinations through friendly competition, the Salt Lake County Health Department tweeted the results of their analysis and sparked a flood of tweets as social media users celebrated or bemoaned their star sign's ranking.

Among Salt Lake County residents, 59% are fully vaccinated, according to state data.

Nordhaus-Bike said she wasn't surprised by the results, including the top spot.

"Leos have a very high standard for themselves," she said. "They want to do things right. They want to lead the way."

The top two, Leo and Aquarius, are social, people-oriented signs who may want to get vaccinated quickly so that they can safely be around other people again, she said.

In the middle of the pack, Taurus and Libra are both ruled by Venus, which has a characteristic "sense of fickleness" that can make these signs indecisive, Nordhaus-Bike said. Gemini and Libra, both ranking near the middle, are air signs that may get in their head and overthink decisions like getting vaccinated, she added.

Meanwhile, both the top and bottom spots include many "fixed signs" that tend to be stubborn and "strongly think either I'm doing this or I'm not doing this."

Nordhaus-Bike said she was a bit surprised to see Scorpios at the bottom spot because they are often associated with health.

"But Scorpio is not necessarily a trusting sign," she said. "And everything feels like it has deep consequences for Scorpios and can literally feel life or death, which may get in the way here."

As Leos celebrated their first place, Scorpios on Twitter lamented their spot on the list with many calling it embarrassing.

"Only time I've ever been embarrassed about being a Scorpio," one social media user tweeted.

"Fellow Scorpios I will fight you," another said.

Even the Health Department joined in on dunking Scorpios in its tweet's disclaimer.

"The COVID-19 vaccine is backed by science and is in no way influenced by horoscopes," it said. "But come on Scorpios!"
