Scotland schools honors retirees

Sep. 7—LAURINBURG — Scotland County Schools recently celebrated the more than 60 employees who retired over the last two years.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the school system was unable to celebrate the 30 staff members who retired in 2020. On Tuesday, the district held a dinner at the Scotland High gym to celebrate the 2020 retirees and the 33 who retired in 2021.

Together the retirees had given a combined 1,441 years of experience and service to the students of Scotland County.
