Sculptor Tuck Langland to address The Art League at March luncheon

MISHAWAKA — Sculptor Tuck Langland will address the next Art League luncheon, at 11:30 a.m. March 21 at Beiger Mansion, 317 Lincoln Way E.

A retired professor of art at Indiana University South Bend, Langland will present a slide show of his public sculptures, including the historic portraits of Father Hesburgh and The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr, James Oliver and his #40 Plow, and Violin Woman.

All three are located in the greater downtown area of South Bend, as is a fourth, a life size bust of Joe Kernan, former mayor of South Bend and governor of Indiana.

At The Art Leagues March 21 luncheon, sculptor Tuck Langland will talk about this sculpture of the Rev. Theodore M. Hesburgh and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and other public sculptures he's made during his career.

The Art League is an auxiliary body of the South Bend Museum of Art.
