Seacoast field hockey, volleyball players named to NH, Maine All-State teams

EXETER — After the Exeter High School field hockey team won its second straight NHIAA Division I championship this season, the Blue Hawk players were well represented with New Hampshire all-state honors.

Senior Addison MacNeil, who had 19 goals and 11 assists, was named to the all-state first team, and was named the Offensive Player of the Year. MacNeil was also voted Exeter's team MVP.

Exeter's Ainsley Grant and Lindsay Ducharme were named to the second team, while Peyton King was an honorable mention selection.

"Beyond honored to be in the presence of such an amazing group of field hockey players," Exeter head coach Deb Grott said. "Smart, skilled and hard working."

Grant, an Exeter co-captain with MacNeil, had one goal and two assists in her fourth season with the Exeter varsity, while King, a goalie, allowed just 11 goals all season, posting eight shutouts.

More Seacoast field hockey players honored

Dover's Audrey Carter and Winnacunnet's Abby Wilber were also named to the Division I first team, while Dover's Erin Lynch and Rylen Gray were named to the second team.

Winnacunnet's Grace VanderEls and Maia Delano were honorable mention selections.

In Division II, Portsmouth's Mia Edwards, Charlotte Marstons and Darla Mahoney were all-state first-team selections. Edwards was named the Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight year, while Marston shared Offensive Player of the Year honors with Souhegan's Ella Barrett.

Oyster River's Oliva Anderson, Nora Rogers and Rowynn Pickering were honorable mention selections, as was Portsmouth's Sydney Moreau and Sam Rule.

In Division III, St. Thomas Aquinas' Kensley Harris was a first-team selection, and teammates Lacey Clark and McKenzie Wessling were second team, and Kadence Law was an honorable mention selection.

In Maine, York's Abigail Armlin, Hadley Cucco, Abigail Dickson and Margaret Hanlon were all Class B South all-state first-team picks.

Volleyball all-state players from Seacoast

Dover's Tory Vitko, Exeter's Summer LeClerc and Portsmouth's Sofia Zingariello were all named to the Division I all-state first team, and Dover's Sam Winters, Exeter's Caroline Burke and Spaulding's Kylyn McLaren were named to the second team.

Exeter's Lauren Tuttle was an honorable mention selection.

In Division II, Oyster River's Emma Hampton was named Division II Player of the Year, and was selected to all-state first team, along with teammate Chloe Hawkes.

Ashleigh von der Linden of St. Thomas Aquinas was also named to the first team.

St. Thomas Aquinas' Margaret Hurley was placed on the second team, while teammate Brigid O'Connor and Oyster River's Annabelle Svenson were honorable mention selections.

Additionally, St. Thomas Aquinas' Katie Tomaszewski was named JV Coach of the Year.

In Division III, Somersworth's Arianna Cuevas and Lillie Hamilton were named to the all-state first team, while Abygail Lambert was named to the second team.

Also in Division III, Portsmouth Christian Academy's Liahna Messier was first team, and Emily Esters was honorable mention.

In Maine, York's Nora Dowling and Chloe Slovenski were named to the Class B all-state first team, while Megan Tully was named to the second team.
