Seacoast high school roundup: Cucco leads York to third win of season

NAPLES, Maine - Hadley Cucco had two goals, and Gail Armlin and Abby Dickson each had one as the York High School field hockey team beat Lake Region, 4-0 on Wednesday in a Class B South contest.

York is now 3-0) on the season.

Armlin, Emma Joyce and Kelsey Foss all had an assist for the Wildcats.

MANCHESTER - Emerson Parish and Hayden Adams both scored two goals for Winnacunnet in this Division I win.

Grace Vander Els, Abby Wilber, Jen Frost, Amelia McAfee, Maia Delano and Maia Santora all had one.

Wilber also had three assists for the Warriors. Winnacunnet’s Amber Morgado and Mackenzie Champney combined for two saves.

WINDHAM – Lindsay Ducharme scored the lone goal for Exeter (3-0-1) in this rematch from last year’s Division I state championship game.

Windham’s goal was the first one allowed by the Blue Hawks through four games this season.

SOUTH BERWICK, Maine - Senior Brooke Salvail's three goals lifted Marshwood to this Class A South win. Eva Hersey also scored for the Hawks.

Maddie LaBreck, Erika Parker, and Elle McDaniel all played well in the win.

NEWMARKET - Graham Willerer’s two goals led Newmarket to this Division IV win. Nate Chan and Tyler Napoletano also scored for the Mules.

HAMPTON – Senior Willem Belanger, assisted by Tim Kollmorgen, scored the lone goal for Winnacunnet (1-2) in this Division I match.

Senior goalie Tanyon Ziolkowski had eight saves.

PORTLAND -- Marshwood's Jason Singer goal, assisted by James Melino, proved to be the difference in Class A South contest.

Marshwood goalie Andrew Perry had 11 saves.

NASHUA – Ninya Beckwith had six kills and eight digs for Winnacunnet in this Division I contest.

Individual game scores were 25-23, 25-18, 25-22.

Alexis Ciardelli had five kills and eight digs for the Warriors, while teammate Makenzie Poplawski had 15 assists.

DURHAM - Ashleigh von der Linden had nine kills, and Emma St. Cyr had 10 assists and Brigid O'Connor had 11 digs for the Saints in this Division II loss.

MEREDITH - Liahna Messier had 12 kills, four aces and seven digs for Portsmouth Christian Academy in this Division III loss.

Individual game scores were 25-9, 15-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-10.

Madelyn Hardy (three kills), Emma Eisner (four aces, five digs), Kailey Holt (15 assists), and Emily Esters (16 digs) all starred for PCA.

Saints sweep four-team match

HUDSON – Will Mollica carded a round of 2-over par 37 and teammate Carlos Guenard had a a 38 in this four-team match at Whip Pool Will Country Club.

St. Thomas Aquinas won with a team score of 200, while Alvirne (220), Hollis-Brookline (221) and Milford (230) placed second through fourth, respectively.

Rolly Edgerly shot a 41 for the Saints, while Lindsay Butkus, Cam Cunio and Joe Mollica all had a 42.

Winnacunnet cards team score of 188 in win

HAMPTON – June Doerr and Chris Berry each shot medalist rounds of 1-over par 36 for Winnacunnet in a three-team match at Sagamore Hampton Golf Club.

Winnacunnet won with a team score of 188, while Goffstown (223) and Pembroke (224) placed second and third, respectively.

Jimmy Schouller shot a 37 for the Warriors, while Elliot Brinser had a 39 and Arjay Sidney had a 40.

Portsmouth wins four-team match

SOMERSWORTH - Boden Driscoll and Eli Poteet both shot 3-over par 35 to help Portsmouth (9-3) win this four-team match at The Oaks.

Portsmouth had a team score of 202, while Oyster River (206), Trinity (210) and Timberlane (218) placed second through fourth, respectively.

Jake Carlisle, Briggs Williams and Turner Leduc all shot a 42 for the Clippers.
