Seacoast roundup: Carlisle delivers complete-game win for Portsmouth baseball

PORTSMOUTH – The Portsmouth High School baseball team saw eight of its nine starters have hits as it improved to 4-1 with a 10-0 win over Merrimack on Wednesday in a Division I game.

Jake Carlisle allowed two hits over six innings, while striking out two and earning the complete-game win.

Carlisle, Devin Driscoll and Boden Driscoll all had two RBIs for the Clippers, who scored three runs in the first inning, six in the fifth and one in the sixth.

Merrimack is now 0-5 on the season.

BASEBALL

St. Thomas Aquinas 5

NORTHWOOD – Junior left-hander Sam Grondin carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but allowed a hit in this Division II win.

Grondin, who threw a no-hitter in his first start of the season, struck out 14 and issued one walk.

Timmy Avery had two hits, including his first homer of the season for the Saints. Thaa Papakonstantis also had two hits, while Grondin, Devon Paquette, Michael Skowron, Charlie Covert and Cade Murphy all had one.

St. Thomas scored one run in the third and two runs in each of the fifth and seventh innings.

Concord 2

Winnacunnet 1

CONCORD – Nate Wachter’s two-run home run in the first inning was the difference in this Division I win.

Concord improved to 4-1, while Winnacunnet is 2-2.

Winnacunnet senior Ethan Nowak allowed just two hits over six innings, striking out seven.

Concord’s Matt Drewes earned the win, allowing two hits and striking out two. Timmy Knight and Jackson Larck had the two Winnacunnet hits.

MANCHESTER – Wesley Alfonso and Trevor Brennan had the two Spaulding hits in this Division I loss.

NEW IPSWICH - Cam Moran, Parker Sweitzer, Jack Ferrelli and Alex Dyer all had a hit for the Mules, who dropped to 4-1 with this Division IV loss.

Jackie Prompradit, Matt Napoletano and Sean Vincent also had a hit for Newmarket.

SOFTBALL

Winnacunnet 2

HAMPTON – Maddy Eaton struck out seven and allowed two hits over seven innings as Winnacunnet improved to 4-0 with this Division I win.

Eaton also had two hits and an RBI, while Cay Adamas had two hits, and Lucy Gebstein and Fenway Schouller each had one.

Exeter 8

Goffstown 6

GOFFSTOWN – Kristen Beebe, in relief, allowed no hits and struck out 11 for Exeter in this Division I game.

Exeter is now 5-0, while Goffstown is 2-3.

Dejah Rondeau had three 3 hits for the Blue Hawks, while Summer Leclerc (two hits, run, RBI), Kristen Bickford (two hits, run), Beebe (triple, RBI), Madi Paige (triple, run, RBI), Grace Brunelle (hit, RBI, run) and Annie Christiana (hit, run) starred.

DURHAM – The Bobcats scored three runs in the seventh inning to walk off with this Division II win.

Kate Michaud had two hits and three RBIs in the win, and teammate Addy Veno had three hits.

NEW IPSWICH - Kierra Souphakhot, Jadynn Radja, Karina Jones and Emma Surina each had a hit in this Division IV loss for the Mules.

Souphakhot struck out 10 over six innings, while Lillian Thompson starred defensively at shortstop.

ROCHESTER -Meagan Uraskevich allowed two hits and struck out eight, earning her first varsity win for Spaulding in Division I action.

Ky McLaren, Kenzie Brochu and Caitlin Willis all had two hits and two RBIs for the Red Raiders, while Liv Dionne and Anna Stanley both had two hits and an RBI.

Somersworth 9

Hillsboro-Deering 8

SOMERSWORTH – Riley Barton’s hit to right scored Morgan Williams with the game-winning run for Somersworth in this Division III win.

Danna Dyer and Lillie Hamilton both scored two runs for the Hilltoppers, while Emily Patterson and Williams each had an RBI. Lillie Hamilton, Aby Lambert, Gabby Lensky also scored.

Coe-Brown 11

Campbell 6

NORTHWOOD – Courtney Thomas had four hits, including two home runs and seven RBIs, leading Coe-Brown (5-0) to this Division II win.

Annie Jerome had two hits for Coe-Brown, while Audrey Perron had an RBI single. Madi DeCota struck out six over seven innings, earning her fifth win of the season.

St. Thomas Aquinas 7

BRISTOL – Ashleigh von der Linden allowed three hits and struck out nine over seven innings, leading St. Thomas to this Division III win. She also hit a two-run homer, doubled, and drove in three.

Junior Elizabeth Flynn had three hits and scored four runs, driving in one, while sophomores Abby Kosko, Abbie Gaynor and Amelia Anderson all had a hit.

BOYS LACROSSE

DOVER – Senior Sam Guilmette had three goals, and freshman Tyler Callander had two goals and one assist as Division II Oyster River (3-2) doubled up Division I Dover (1-3).

Freshman Jaydn Smart also scored for the Bobcats. Teammate Talon Beyer had two assists, and goalie Finn Mason had eight saves.

GIRLS LACROSSE

DURHAM - Megan Healy had goals and two assists, and Payton Dennig had two goals for Division I Dover in this win over Division II Oyster River.

Julia Rowley had a goal and three assists in the win, and Danielle Young and Lily Hunt each had a goal and an assist.

Reese Sanders and Abbie Kozlowski also scored a goal for Dover, while Zayda Clairmont had one assist. Dover goalie Maggie Berry had nine saves.

Grace Royal had two goals for Oyster River, while Eliza Farwell and Liz Walent both had one, and Elsa Pueschel had an assist. Oyster River goalie Sydney Haines had eight saves.

DOVER - Megan Leahy had four goals, and Cat Vetter and Charlotte De Tolla both had three for St. Thomas Aquinas in this Division III win.

Kensley Harris and Annita Parmelee both had two goals, while Reece Anderson, Hannah Henderson and Lizzy Holden alll had one.

St. Thomas goalie Anna Stailey had 14 saves.

GIRLS TENNIS

CONCORD –The Green Wave all their matches, both singles and doubles, by an 8-0 score in this Division I contest.

Taylor Wilson, Tory Vitko, Riya Ramdev, Mia Mozzoni, Kate Ross and Ashlynn Swierk won in singles, while Wilson and Vitko, Ramdev and Mozzoni, and Izzy Schlosser and Swierk won in doubles.

MANCHESTER – Sophia Jundi (No. 1, 8-0), Caylie Cook (No. 2, 8-1), Aiofe Ryan (No. 3, 8-0), Elyse White (No. 4, 8-1), Clara Daw (No. 5, 8-1) and Lindsay Lee (No. 6, 8-0) won their respective singles matches for Portsmouth (4-3) in this Division II match.

In doubles, Jundi and Cook won 8-0 at No. 1, Avery Porter and Mia Edwards won 8-0 at No. 2, and Samantha LaRue and Anna Syphers won 8-2 at No. 3.

HAMPTON - All six of Winnacunnet's singles players - Polina Makarenko, Stella Sebeny, Amelia Dumont, Sydney Whalen and Grace Vander Els - won their respective matches by 8-0 scores in this Division II match.

Makarenko and Sebeny won 8-0 in No. 1 doubles for Winnacunnet (5-0).

ROCHESTER – Ella Leslie and Lucy Gosselin won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles for Spaulding’s lone win in this Division I match.

DOVER – The Green Wave improved to 5-0 on the season with this Division I win.

Diego López (No. 1, 8-5), Judah Payeur (No. 2, 8-5), Pat Carroll (No. 3, 8-3), Nate Bigelow (No. 4, 8-1), Colby Bigelow (No. 5, 8-0) and Logan Spagna (No. 6, 8-0) all won in singles.

In doubles, Lopez and Payeur won 8-1 at No. 1, Carroll and Colby Bigelow won 8-2 at No. 2, and Gavin Chu and Luis González won 8-3 in No. 3.

Oyster River 8

Souhegan 1

DURHAM - John Henry (8-5), Simon Bliss (8-2), Shashu Srivatsan (8-0), James Li (8-1) and Alec Scarlat (8-0) all won in singles for the Bobcats in this Division II win.

Srivatsan and Bliss won 8-2 at No. 1 doubles, Henry and Scarlat won 8-4 at No. 2, and Li and Pare won 8-1 at No. 3.

VOLLEYBALL

HAMPTON – Bryce Molnar (32 assists), Joshua Schaake (14 kills, 11 digs), Jack Andrews (12 kills) and James Baker (seven kills, 11 digs) starred for Winnacunnet in this Division I match.

Individual game scores were 25-16, 29-31, 25-21, 25-19.
