Yale Whiffenpoofs is an a cappella group founded in 1909 and is now composed of 14 seniors who perform all over the world.

The nation’s oldest a cappella group, the Whiffenpoofs, perform more than 200 concerts each year across all continents. This month, on Feb. 11, the ensemble — composed of 14 senior Yale students selected for this year — will perform at The Studio at Mizner Park.

Before performing at 2 p.m, the group will host workshops for young singers — one for ages five to 12 at 10 a.m., and another for ages 13 to 18 at 11:30 a.m. The group’s emcee, Luke Tillitski, is a Boca Raton local.

“Singing with the Whiffenpoofs has been the best decision of my life,” Tillitski said. “And I cannot wait to share them with my hometown.”

The Whiffenpoofs were founded in 1909 and have since performed at Carnegie Hall, the White House, the Rose Bowl and Lincoln Center. They’ve appeared on The Today Show, 60 Minutes and Saturday Night Live. Tickets start at $20 and can be purchased at the door or on Ticketmaster.

Anna Joy Lehman (as Katie) and Christy Antonio (as Julia) appear in the thought-provoking drama Pied À Terre that opens Friday, Feb. 9 at the Willow Theater in Sugar Sand Park, Boca Raton.

A drama by John Anastasi, Pied À Terre has had successful wins Off-Broadway and will now debut in the southeast. The production, which will be directed by Peter J. Lowey, follows the story of a successful television journalist who discovers her husband is having an affair by finding a Manhattan apartment he owns without her knowledge. She learns she has a lot more in common with the young woman her husband is seeing upon meeting her at this apartment.

“The initial idea of the story started one way, very simply,” Anastasi, the playwright, said. “A married man picks up a young girl … But then all sorts of plot complications started presenting themselves to me and as I wrote, I discovered in these threads and ideas the theme of grieving, loss, survivors’ guilt, and the passions of the soul that come into conflict with the obligations of the mind and the needs of the heart.”

Pied À Terre will run from Feb. 9 through Feb. 18. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online at sugarsandpark.org/pied-terre, or by phone at 561-347-3948. Group rates — six or more tickets purchased in one transaction — are $18.

  • When: Friday, Feb. 9 through Sunday, Feb. 18, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., depending on the day
