Seahawks draft pick improves with yet another Broncos loss
It’s a Mile High free-fall for the Broncos, and there is only one team who benefits: the Seattle Seahawks, who own Denver’s first round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Broncos have lost another game in devastating fashion, this time dropping an incredibly winnable game to the Baltimore Ravens 10-9. Former league MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson was ruled out of the game following the first quarter with a knee injury, causing backup Tyler Huntley to skipper the ship for the remainder of the afternoon.
Denver was held to three Brandon McManus field goals, and it looked like it almost was going to be just enough. Unfortunately for them, the Ravens engineered a 16-play, 91-yard game winning drive capped off by a Tyler Huntley touchdown run with 0:28 seconds left in the game.
Sunday was the third time this year the Broncos have been held out of the end zone, and it was the also the sixth time overall Denver has been held to 10 or less points. Remarkably, if the Broncos had managed to score at least 18 points in regulation of every game (would would still be among the worst in the NFL) they would be an astonishing 10-1 on the year.
Now John Schneider, Pete Carroll and their scouting department will focus on what they will do with what looks to be a top-five pick, minimum, in this spring’s draft.
