SEAL Team has already seen a shake-up in the last 12 months, with the military drama moving from CBS to Paramount+ in the US.

And now, following its season five finale, one of SEAL Team's stars has responded to rumours that the show has not only concluded its latest run, but the entire series.

David Boreanaz, who plays Master Chief Special Warfare Operator Jason Hayes, has admitted that "nothing official" has been confirmed yet.

In an interview with TVLine, the Bravo Team leader actor said that he was feeling "optimistic" about SEAL's future, but was currently holding out for news.

"I do know that we've done great for Paramount+, and I'll just leave it there," he said, before adding that he will be patiently waiting for his "call sheet".

"I am only as good as the call sheet that says, 'Hey, you've got an 8am call time', right? So, we'll wait and see if that call time pops up."

If SEAL Team has indeed aired its final mission, then at least David Boreanaz has fond memories both in front of and behind the camera to look back on.

Opening up about the challenges of working as both an actor and director on the series, David explained the series' "formula" included 10-hour days.

"We don't have nine to 12 days. We don't have 13- or 14-hour days. We have seven days to complete an episode, and we have 10 hours [each day]," he said.

"Knowing that in advance, you can feel the vice kind of squeeze a bit as a director. You know you want to get the best out of what you can for these moments, I've got to make sure that I'm invested with specific acting moments, and then you have to invest in time in order to get the practical moments."

SEAL Team, as you may have guessed, follows an elite team of Navy SEAL officers as they plan and execute various dangerous missions on short notice.

SEAL Team airs on Paramount+ in the US. Sky Max airs the show in the UK.
