On Hannity Monday night, Sean Hannity used his monologue to question whether or not the top Senate Republicans, MItch McConnell and John Thune, are loyal to the party and said it’s time for new leadership. Though neither McConnell nor Thune were among the seven Republican senators who voted to convict former President Donald Trump in the impeachment trial, both have been vocal in their condemnation of him following the deadly insurrection at the Capitol on January 6. McConnell took his condemnation a step further just moments after voting to acquit Trump when he took to the Senate floor and said that Trump actually was responsible for the insurrection.

Hannity questioned why McConnell hasn’t given a similar speech condemning Democrats for something they haven’t actually done, then called for McConnell and Thune to be replaced.

“When is he going to give a speech on the senate floor and hold those Democrats accountable for their incitement of insurrection and their insurrection-like language?” Hannity asked. “The time is now coming for new leadership in the U.S. Senate.”

SEAN HANNITY: This is a question the Republicans are now going to have to ask themselves tonight. Where was John Thune and Mitch McConnell fighting against the biggest abuse of power corruption scandal in our history with Operation Cross-fire Hurricane? They were missing in action.

- Sean Hannity went after top Republican senators Mitch McConnell and John Thune for their condemnation of former president Donald Trump following the deadly insurrection at the Capital on January 6. Neither Thune nor McConnell were among the seven Republicans who voted to convict Trump in the impeachment trial, but just moments after Trump was acquitted, McConnell took to the Senate floor, where he said that Trump actually was responsible for the insurrection.

MITCH MCCONNELL: There's no question-- none-- that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. No question about it.

- And as McConnell, along with dozens of other Republicans, faced backlash for daring to defy Trump, Hannity called for new GOP leadership in the Senate and questioned why McConnell hasn't made a similar speech condemning Democrats for something they haven't done.
