8 Out of 10 Cats star Sean Lock is set to be honoured by Channel 4 for Stand Up To Cancer 2023.

The telethon put on by Channel 4 and Cancer Research UK, which last aired in 2021, is set to return this year on Friday November 3.

As part of the show, Stand Up To Cancer 2023 will feature a tribute to the late comedian, who died in August 2021 aged 58 after he was diagnosed with cancer, taking a look back at some of his performances.

According to Metro, the programme, which raises money for cancer research, will end with footage from Lock's 2010 show Sean Lock: Lockipedia, which was filmed at London’s Hammersmith Apollo as part of his sell-out tour.

The televised charity event will be a star-studded one, including appearances from Adam Hills, Joe Lycett, Rhod Gilbert, Davina McCall and Munya Chawawa.

Following a 90-minute live show titled SU2C: The Takeover, Channel 4 will show an all-new Celebrity Gogglebox as well as the finale of Don’t Look Down where a team of celebrities will attempt a world-first relay highwire walk over the London Stadium.

Ending the night's proceedings is The SU2C Comedy Roast hosted by Rhod Gilbert, with stars such as Nish Kumar, Tom Stade, Davina McCall, Jordan Gray, Joe Lycett, Ellie Taylor and Danny Beard all set to perform.

Following Lock's death in 2021, a flood of tributes came in, with comedian Bill Bailey calling Lock "a true original, a wonderful comic."

QI's Alan Davies tweeted: "Sad news about Sean Lock. Funny on stage, hilarious off. We met in 1988 right at the start of our stand up careers. I hadn't seen him in recent years as he quietly wrestled with illness but I feel very sad today for Anoushka and their children. RIP Locky."
