Sean Paul returning to San Diego with ‘Greatest Tour’

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — San Diego, it’s time to “Get Busy” — iconic dancehall artist Sean Paul is coming to town later this year.

The Jamaican-born singer will be bringing his electrifying beats to SOMA in America’s Finest City on June 1 as part of his “Greatest Tour 2024,” announced by LiveNation on Tuesday.

The 22-stop, U.S. tour comes on the heels of his latest single “Greatest (Dutty Money Riddim),” and a series of shows in New Zealand and Australia. Other California stops on the tour, which kicks off in Orlando on May 2, include shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Anaheim.

Pre-sale tickets are already available for the “Greatest Tour” stop in San Diego through LiveNation. General sale will open on Friday, Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. local time. VIP packages are also available for fans.

Considered one of the most prolific dancehall and reggae artists of all time, Paul has released seven studio albums, including the Grammy Award-winning “Dutty Rock” and the critically acclaimed “The Trinity.”

The “Temperature” singer also has dozens of chart-topping singles in his discography, as well as countless features on tracks with other iconic artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Karol G, Sia, Blu Cantrell and The Saturdays.

Paul’s San Diego stop in June will mark his first performance in America’s Finest City since 2022, when he toured with Pitbull on his “Can’t Stop Us Now” summer tour.

Known for its roots in San Diego’s punk scene, SOMA is hosting a number of notable artists across a wide range of genres this year, including pop darlings Chappell Roan and Madison Beer, R&B singer Mariah The Scientist, and rapper Busta Rhymes.

Paul joins a growing list of high-profile artists to make their way through San Diego County this year, including Luke Bryan, Justin Timberlake, P!nk, Def Leppard, Journey, Steve Miller Band, Green Day and Billy Joel with Sting.
