Sean Penn’s wife Leila George files for divorce after 1 year

Sean Penn and wife Leila George are headed for divorce after just one year of marriage.

George filed papers to dissolve the marriage Friday in Los Angeles, People reported.

If the divorce goes through, it will be the third for Penn. The actor was previously married to Madonna, from 1985-89, and Robin Wright, from 1996-2010. He also had a long-term relationship with Charlize Theron.

George is an Australian actress whose work includes the 2019 film “The Kid,” directed by Vincent D’Ononfrio and starring Ethan Hawke. At 29, George is 32 years younger than Penn.

The two got married in 2020 after having an on-again, off-again relationship since 2016.
