The search is over: Find Easter egg hunts in Montgomery and beyond

Easter is bounding into Montgomery like a big ol’ bunny as April begins, and with that comes a lot of Easter egg hunts. Kids, you’re in luck because you have a chance to go to several of them. We’re making it easy for you to find them throughout the River Region, plus a few extra bits of Easter fun for everyone — even the grownups.

Be aware that some egg hunts have age restrictions. Kids should bring their own Easter baskets.

SATURDAY, April 1

  • 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Montgomery’s Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza at Blount Cultural Park on the grounds of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Egg hunt with children’s activities, photos with Easter Bunny, food vendors and more. For ages 12 and under.

  • 3-5 p.m. — 345 Stone Park Blvd., Pike Road. Egg hunt with Easter Bunny.

  • 3-5:30 p.m. — The Pike Road Community Easter Egg Hunt is at The Well, 1001 Marler Road, Pike Road.

SUNDAY, April 2

  • 8 a.m. to noon — First United Methodist Wetumpka, 306 W. Tuskeena St., Wetumpka. Egg hunts for newborn to 6th grade, with food and a special message.

  • 8:45 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. — Frazer Church, 6000 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, is hosting two egg hunts for kids K5-5th grade, with candy and prizes, in Wesley Hall.

  • 10:30 a.m. — Evangel Church, 3975 Vaughn Road, Montgomery. Free event with 1,000 eggs, photos with Easter Bunny, free candy.

SATURDAY, April 8

  • 9 a.m.-noon — Southside Church of Christ Montgomery, 3388 S. Hull St., Montgomery. Along with the egg hunt, this Easter Festival includes free clothes, furniture, shoes, games, lunch, facepainting, movie, Kopz & Kidz, prizes and a live DJ.

  • 10 a.m.-noon — Young Meadows Presbyterian Church, 5780 Vaughn Road, Montgomery. Egg hunt, crafts, lunch and the Easter story.

  • 10 a.m. — Saint James Church, 9045 Vaughn Road, Montgomery.

  • 2 p.m. — Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Foundation Easter Egg Hunt, at Auburn University Montgomery near the gymnasium. For children age 1 to 11. Sponsored by Sheriff Derrick Cunningham. For more info call 334-832-2515.

  • 2 p.m. — Yarbrough Street Baptist Church, 1701 Yarbrough St., Montgomery. Includes crafts and snacks. Ages infant to 6th grade.

  • 2-4 p.m. — Trinity Memorial Baptist Church, 2700 Old Selma Road, Montgomery.

  • 2-4 p.m. — Prattville First United Methodist Church, 100 E. 4th St., Prattville. Egg hunt on the Bell House lawn, with games, music, snacks, inflatables, and a petting zoo. For children up to 5th grade.

  • 2:30-4:30 p.m. — First Christian Church, 1705 Taylor Road, Montgomery.

  • 3-5 p.m. — ROSS Montgomery Recovery Community Center, 2100 Mt. Meigs Road, Montgomery. Egg hunt with snacks, games, fun and prizes for all ages.

SUNDAY, April 9

  • 2 p.m. — Hope Hull Community Church, 305 Wasden Road, Hope Hull. Egg hunt with story time, snacks and a craft.

  • Drive-in screening of “Hop” — On Friday, March 31, 7 p.m. Montgomery invites you to a free screening of the animated Easter film “Hop” at Blount Cultural Park, 3 Festival Drive. Food trucks will be on site.
