PRATTVILLE — Cadaver dogs will be searching woods in Autauga County today after hunters found human remains Saturday.

The finding of the skeletal remains were reported about 2:30 p.m., said Sheriff Joe Sedinger. He declined to give specifics about where in the county to remains were found.

"We don't want to say anything until we haver a positive identification," he said. "We don't want to put any information out until we know for sure."

The search teams will be looking for any other evidence at the site, he said. The office is reviewing active missing persons cases.

"We've had Dallas County call, Elmore County, they have missing persons cases, we've had other counties call," Sedinger said. "That's why we're not putting out anything until we know."

The remains have been taken to the Alabama Department of Forensics for identification.
