Law enforcement across Western North Carolina are searching for a man charged with the shooting death of 29-year-old Kedrick Tevon Green on Nov. 18.

A man has been charged with the killing of 29-year-old Kedrick Tevon Green of Asheville, who was found shot to death at close range in his vehicle Nov. 18 in Arden.

Alfred Louis Logan Jr., 42, charged with first-degree murder, has not been arrested. Law enforcement throughout Western North Carolina are currently attempting to locate him, said Buncombe County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Aaron Sarver.

The Sherriff's Office is in the process of executing search warrants in relation to the homicide, Sarver said at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 1.

Logan is described as a 6-foot-4-inch Black man weighing roughly 205 pounds.

"Logan is on federal probation and based on past criminal history and the nature of this crime, he may be armed," Sarver said. "Do not approach and call 911 immediately if you see him."

Law enforcement located Green dead in his vehicle at an apartment complex off Christ School Road in Arden around 8:30 a.m. Nov. 18, the Sheriff's Office tweeted.

An autopsy has been requested.

According to his obituary, Green graduated from Community High School in 2011 and attended South College. He was was a drummer at St. John Baptist Church in Arden.

"He will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor and his contagious smile" the obituary stated.

The same day Green was shot to death, Sherriff's deputies responded to a call at 10:30 a.m. about another gunshot victim, Gregory Alan Gaines, at East Asheville Storage on U.S. 70 in Swannanoa.

Randall Scott McCaul, 60, of Buncombe County, was arrested and charged with Gaines' murder Nov. 18. He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under no bond, meaning he is not eligible for pre-trial release, the Sheriff's Office said in a press release.

The Nov. 18 homicides mark the fourth and fifth investigated in 2021 by the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office.

Boyce Shane Plemmons, 44, was shot to death Sept. 26 at a residence on Dryman Mountain Road. Three people have been charged with murder in his death.

Joshua Silvers, 27, was shot and killed outside a home on Davis Drive in Candler just after midnight on July 26. Three people, including Silvers' girlfriend, were charged with first-degree murder.

Belva Smeltzer, 67, was shot and killed inside her home Jan. 12. Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged 74-year-old Ronald Haynes with first-degree murder in her killing.
