Search warrant leads to child pornography arrest in DeSoto County

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is facing child pornography charges after a search warrant was executed at a home in Horn Lake, Mississippi Thursday, according to the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department.

Aaron Whitten is charged with one count of accessing child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography, and one count of possessing child pornography.

Detectives with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children, the Criminal Investigations Division, the Fugitive Division, and K-9 Gilly, with support from Patrol Deputies and SWAT, executed a search warrant at Whitten’s home.

Evidence related to the possession and distribution of child pornography was located at the home, according to a press release.

Whitten was taken into custody and is being held at the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department Adult Detention Facility, where he is awaiting his first court appearance, which will determine his bond amount.

“The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division demonstrated, once again, that our relentless pursuit of predators who attempt to hide in the shadows will be identified and brought to justice,” said the DCSD in a press release.
