*Spoilers for season 1 of Only Murders In The Building below!*

Since the first season of Hulu's murder mystery-meets-comedy series Only Murder in the Building wrapped up, fans have been itching for more. Because new episodes aired every week, the anticipation for cracking the case at the Arconia during season 1 was super intense.

The show follows three neighbors who form an unlikely friendship because of their true-crime obsession. Mabel, Charles, and Oliver decide to try their hand at solving the mystery of a murder in their New York City apartment building, using the skills they've acquired by listening to true-crime podcasts. While uncovering information about their late neighbor and finding leads about the murderer, the trio documents their findings through their own podcast.

After that ending, fans are wondering what to expect for the show's second season. Ahead, find everything we know about season 2 of Only Murders In The Building.

When is season 2 coming out?

The cast and crew started filming in December 2021, but Selena Gomez announced that season 2 would be coming on June 28, 2022, in a video promo posted to Instagram.

During the promo, Selena and her co-stars Martin Short and Steve Martin are cracking jokes while coming up through the Arconia's iconic elevator. Before the announcement was made, fans suspected that the new season would hit Hulu in the summer of 2022, thanks to a tweet posted on March 24.

Fans have theorized that the numbers on the elevator buttons may have indicated when to expect season 2. The 2, 6, and 8 buttons are all lit up, and theories have suggested that they could represent season 2 would drop on either June 8, 2022, or August 6, 2022. If all the numbers are accounted for, however, it points to a June 28, 2022 release date. It looks like fans cracked the case!

Is there a trailer for season 2?

There sure is! With about two weeks left until the premiere, Hulu finally dropped the full trailer for OMITB season 2. In the two-minute clip, we see a glimpse into what happens after Mabel, Charles, and Oliver are arrested and named persons of interest in the shocking murder of Bunny, the Arconia building manager. A mystery person has been planting incriminating evidence in Mabel, Charles, and Oliver's apartments, seemingly trying to frame them as Bunny's killer, as the trio works tirelessly to clear their names of murder. "Whoever is doing this, is toying with us," a stressed Oliver declares at one point. Check out the complete trailer below.

On May 17, Hulu released a one-minute teaser for Only Murders in the Building, and we immediately find ourselves enthralled in the antics of the group as they reintroduce us to building mates, attempt to get rid of a murder weapon, and give glimpses of new characters played by Amy Schumer and Cara Delevingne. As the clip teases the dire nature of the situation, the discovery of secret passageways in the Arconia gives a sense of intrigue and hope as the trio works to catch Bunny's true killer.

Back in March, Hulu posted an official 30-second teaser across social media platforms. In it, we see Charles, Oliver, and Mabel aren't backing down as Mabel takes the mic for new episodes of their podcast.

What has the cast said about the second season?

Despite a successful debut, Selena Gomez was skeptical about Only Murders in The Building filming a second season. She opened up to Us Weekly about her apprehension during a chat with her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short. "I was kind of nervous, to be honest, to do a second season because it [season one] was so good," she said. "So I was terrified." Martin Short joked, "I guess you don't remember Grease 2."

The Selena + Chef star also dished on the IRL quality that would make her a good detective. "I think I would be a good detective because I’m very nosey. I can track things down, like if I need to find someone. I used to be really good at that."

Are there any new additions to the cast?

Season 1 of OMITB had a roster full of A-list celebs who made guest cameos, and season two appears to be keeping the same energy.

OMITB executive producer and star Martin Short announced that Amy Schumer and Shirley MacLaine would be heading to the Arconia next season. "Before Christmas, [I shot scenes with] Shirley MacLaine and Amy Schumer," he revealed during an interview with Deadline. "The quality of actor that this show is attracting makes it endlessly fun to go to work."

On December 1, 2021, Deadline reported that model, actress, and Selena Gomez's close friend Cara Delevingne is joining the cast. She will play Alice, "a sophisticated art world insider who becomes enmeshed in the mystery."

Vanity Fair disclosed in May 2022 that Alice will actually be Mabel's love interest who "puts Mabel in touch with a side of herself she’s been somewhat neglecting since the show began."

Showrunner and co-creator John Hoffman told Vanity Fair "It was amazing to have the two of them know each other and feel comfortable." He goes on to say that "It’s a little sparky in all the right ways that makes you feel like, Oh, someone's opening someone's world."

In a February 2022 interview with ELLE, Cara said that the character is "definitely most like [her] than any other character [she has] ever played." She also dished that she "feels so lucky" to work with Steve Martin and Martin Short, which "is like a master class in comedy." Subsequently, in a July 2022 interview with MTV, Cara revealed that a certain Taylor Swift song is the theme song for her character, Alice. "I Knew You Were Trouble when you walked in, what? Surely," Cara said as she jokingly referring to her pal, Taylor's song.

On February 4, 2022, Steve Martin tweeted that there are more new faces getting tangled up in the antics at the Arconia. "Great cast surprises are no longer surprises," he wrote alongside a photo with Selena Gomez, My Big Fat Greek Wedding's Andrea Martin, and Annie's Zoe Colletti. There's no info yet on who they're playing exactly, but we can't wait to see who the next suspects are at the Arconia.

On February 11, 2022, Deadline reported that Michael Rapaport is joining the cast for a recurring role in season 2. He will be playing Detective Kreps, a police detective involved in Bunny's murder case.

Who else returns for season 2?

Because OMITB is a murder-mystery series, there's a strong likelihood that some characters may not make it out alive (looking at you, Bunny). For now, there aren't many details on other cast members returning, but on February 14, 2022, Nathan Lane confirmed that his character, Teddy Dimas, is returning for season 2. "I come back. I can't tell you how but I do come back," Nathan told Deadline. "He did not commit the murder, but they were grave robbing. He comes back in an interesting way, and there’s a big surprise."

What will season 2 be about?

The mystery of Tim Kono's death at the Arconia was just uncovered in season 1, so it won't carry over to season 2. However, a new case is about to unravel — this time, it may surround Mabel, Charles, and Oliver. After Mabel was on her way to grab something from her apartment, Charles and Oliver found her covered in blood and hunched over Bunny's dead body. It seems that Mabel may have defended herself with her knitting needle, but as soon as Charles and Oliver make their way in, she says, "It's not what you think." So, we don't really know what happened there.

Cinda Canning is also seen outside of the Arconia at the end of the season finale when the trio is arrested, as she plans to make them the next subject of her own true-crime podcast. There's still a lot to unpack, so season 2 will most likely pick up where we left off and dive into what happened that night.

In a December 2021 interview with Variety, Selena Gomez shared a little bit about her character's development in season 2. "It's cool because personally in my life, since I started Season 1 to doing Season 2, I changed so much," she told the outlet. "I know that it’s a small amount of time, but I think it kind of carried on into Mabel. If anything, there's just more of a sophistication to her. Her style gets better. She's like, super cool. I cut my hair. So it's a whole fresh start for Mabel."

Selena also revealed that series co-creator John Hoffman started working on ideas for Season 2 toward the end of filming Season 1. "Another season was casually thrown around but then John started spewing these ideas out and sure enough they have come into fruition," she said. "When I was reading it, I was really really shocked because this is so different but it's what makes the show so great. They did such a great job creating another story."

Are there any behind-the-scenes photos?

New snaps of Selena Gomez, Steve Martin, and Martin Short filming on the New York City streets emerged on January 24, 2022. Selena is seen rocking a trio of statement coats. One was a green fur wrap number, the other was a cozy tan teddy coat, and the third was a marble-print puffer.

Back on December 7, 2022, pictures of Selena, Steve, and Martin were unveiled. In the photos, Selena rocks another iconic Mabel Mora outfit — this time, a burnt orange turtleneck paired with her signature gold hoop earrings and shoes to match. The trio was all smiles as they continued filming the series, and when I say these photos feel like a warm hug, I wholeheartedly mean it:

Are there any talks of season 3 yet?

Well, not exactly. But in a TikTok posted to Selena Gomez's account on March 31, Steve Martin seemed to tease that OMITB season 3 (!!!) is happening.

In the short clip, Selena, Steve, and Martin raise red Solo cups and cheers to "a great season two!" But Steve sweetly exclaims, "To a great season 3!" This, of course, prompts raised eyebrows and surprised looks from Selena and Martin — "Well, next year," Steve adds as Selena remarks, "Hopefully." So it's not an *exact* confirmation, but we definitely like where this conversation is headed.
