New Seasons for New Shows?

So many shows, so little time. We are now fully immersed in our new streaming society. There are good shows, there are great shows, and there are shows that might not have been made in the first place had all these options not existed in the first place. Most of our newest entertainment is less than four episodes old, and yet we already know we will be seeing a lot more. Many of the shows we've been discussing on Apple Plus are already renewed for a second season, so it might be time to invest some time in them.

The Morning Show

Apple TV's, "The Morning Show," made quite the splash with its talented cast. Starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell there was a lot invested in this series before it even went live. But this tale of newsroom politics and the #MeToo movement has gotten some mixed reviews since its premiere at the beginning of the month. The reviews have not dampened the enthusiasm behind the scenes. "The Morning Show," has already been renewed for a second season on Apple TV Plus.

See

Perhaps the most talked about of the new Apple TV Plus shows is the Jason Momoa series, "See". The series explores a dystopian future where civilization and technology have collapsed and humanity has lost the ability to see. By humanity, we mean everyone on earth except the twins who find themselves in the care of Momoa's, Baba Voss. The action takes off from there. Fans need not worry about committing time to the deep background and mythology of the program since it, like "The Morning Show," has also been renewed for season two.

For All Mankind

Like, "See", "For All Mankind," also plays with the destiny of the human race, except instead of adjusting the future of humanity they go back and readjust the past. The show asks what might have happened to the United States if, fifty years ago in 1969, the Soviet Union had reached the moon before NASA. The show explores not only what changes might have come to the populace, but what changes might have been made to our technology. Would women have entered the space program sooner? We will get to see a whole bunch of "what ifs" in an already promised season two.

Dickinson

"Dickinson," is probably the least known of these four originals, but it has gotten no less attention from Apple executives. The Hailee Steinfeld vehicle is a dark comedy about the early life of the famed poet, Emily Dickinson. It explores the poet's coming of age and portrays her as a feminist rebel. The series has been reviewed as strange, but there's already a significant audience who is in love with the characters and concept. That has already been enough to greenlight the show for a second season.
