Here are the seats up for grabs and key dates to know in Sheboygan County's spring elections

SHEBOYGAN - The entire Sheboygan County board and the mayors of Plymouth and Sheboygan Falls are up for election next spring, as well as some city council and school board positions.

As of Wednesday, potential candidates could begin circulating nomination papers to get the voter signatures necessary to file for candidacy. Nomination papers are available on the Wisconsin Election Commission website or municipal buildings. Nomination papers for Sheboygan Area School District board seats are available at the Office of the Superintendent of Schools, 3330 Stahl Road.

The deadline for nomination papers is 5 p.m. Jan. 4.

Here are seats that will be up for election in 2022.

Sheboygan County:

  • The entire Sheboygan County Board of Supervisors. There are 25 districts and each seat holds a two-year term.

  • Court of Appeals Judge, district II. This seat is currently held by Paul Reilly, whose six-year term will expire at the end of July.

City of Sheboygan:

  • City Council, districts 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10. Those seats are currently held by Roberta Filicky-Peneski, Betty Ackley, Dean Dekker, Leslie Laster and Andre Walton, respectively.

  • Sheboygan Area School District board, three positions (one from the City of Sheboygan and two from areas outside of the City of Sheboygan). The seats up for election are currently held by Marcia Reinthaler, Susan Hein and Marc Mancl.

City of Plymouth:

  • Mayor. This role is currently filled by Don Pohlman, who was first elected in 2008 and is running for re-election.

  • City Council, districts 1, 2, 3 and 4. The district 1, 3 and 4 seats are currently held by Greg Hildebrand, Bob Schilsky and Jim Wilson, respectively. The district 2 seat is vacant after the death of Jerry Matzdorf in October.

  • Plymouth Joint School District board, five positions (two from Area "A," two from Area "B" and one from Area "C"). Those seats are currently held by Dan Steinhardt, Aaron Martell, Bob Travis, Janell Bohn and Tony Backhaus, respectively.

City of Sheboygan Falls:

  • Mayor. This role is currently filled by Randy Meyer, who was first elected in 2004 and is running for re-election.

  • City Council, districts 1, 2 and 3. Those seats are currently held by Terry Van Engen, Paul Jensen and Jacob Immel, respectively.

  • Municipal judge. This role is currently held by Wallace Endsley.

  • Sheboygan Falls School District board, three positions. Those seats are currently held by Scott Kuehn, John Mauer and Chuck Otte.

Town of Sheboygan:

  • Town Board Supervisors 1 and 3. Those seats are currently held by Char Gumm and Pat Schmidt, respectively. Gumm will not be running for another term.

A primary election, if needed, will be held on Feb. 15, and the spring election will be on April 5.

How to register to vote

To vote, people must be registered and present a photo ID. People can register to vote in person at their municipal clerk's office or online at myvotewi.gov. People must provide proof of residence with a utility, bank statement, driver's license or other appropriate document to register.

Voting for Town of Sheboygan residents will take place at the new town hall on 4020 Technology Parkway.

A resolution will be introduced at the Sheboygan City Council meeting on Monday to assign the following 10 voting locations for the spring election: Humane Society, First Congregational Church, Evangelical Free Church, Fountain Park Methodist Church, First United Lutheran Church, Kiwanis Fieldhouse, Mead Public Library, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Bethany Reformed Church and Christ Lutheran Church.
