Seattle has multiple ways to beat the summer heat by hitting the water

Now that the summer has started and the temperatures are warming up, you’ll have multiple ways to beat the heat by hitting the water in Seattle.

Seattle Parks and Recreation has put out its summer aquatic programming schedule, including wading pools and spray parks.

While there are a number of indoor pools already open and spray parks, the city will open its six beaches, outdoor pools, and wading pools starting June 25.

Madison, Madrona, Magnuson, Mount Baker, Pritchard and West Green Lake beaches will open on weekdays from noon to 7 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m to 7 p.m.

Parks and Recreation plans to open all of its beaches this summer but first must hire additional lifeguards for the beaches.

The city’s two outdoor pools, Lowery C. “Pop” Mounger Pool and Colman Pool, will operate seven days a week. Click here for additional details.

The city opened 10 spray parks for the summer and they will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Click here for a list of the spray parks.
