Seattle Museum Month Is Back This February; Here’s How You Can Take Advantage Of This Deal
Is it us, or has this January gone by much faster than in the past? With a new month comes new experiences, and we’re particularly excited about Seattle Museum Month.
If you’ve never been to the Emerald City, you’re in for a treat. In addition to incredible museums, like The Northwest African American Museum and Museum of Flight, Seattle is home to delicious seafood, iconic landmarks, and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
Enjoy all the city offers, plus a discount on over 30 of the city’s top museums and cultural institutions throughout February, which is considered the official month of the celebration.
From February 1 to February 28, visitors staying in one of the over 50 participating downtown Seattle hotels will receive 50% off admission to participating museums. The best part of this month is that you can visit as many museums as you’d like during your stay.
Seattle Museum Month is perfect for a family vacation or trip with your crew — up to four people staying in the same hotel room can use the discount.

How do I get the Seattle Museum Month discount?
Once you check into a participating hotel, request a Seattle Museum Month packet and museum map from the front desk. In the packet, you will find a guest pass for up to 4 guests. When you present the guest pass in person at the participating museum; you will receive half-price admission.
Which downtown Seattle hotels are eligible?
With over 50 downtown Seattle hotels, you’ll have no problem finding a location to suit your needs. From the ultra-chic Thompson Seattle to the historic Mayflower Park Hotel, there’s something for every type of traveler.
If you’re looking for a sweet deal, the luxe Lotte Hotel is offering a 20% discount on suites. Stay close to the famous Pike Place Market at Palihotel, which currently offers a Bed and Breakfast special.

Getting around the city
Seattle Museum Month organizations are located throughout the Puget Sound region. Getting around the Seattle area isn’t difficult. Many transportation options include the light rail, bus, monorail, ferry, streetcar, car and by foot.
The Seattle Center Monorail services the Chihuly Garden and Glass, MoPOP, Pacific Science Center, Seattle Children’s Museum and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center.
Take the Bremerton Ferry to the Puget Sound Navy Museum, the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum, and the USS Turner Joy. The Bainbridge Island Ferry will give you easy access to the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the Kids Discovery Museum (KiDiMu).
If exploring the city by car is your preferred option, you can rent a car or use a taxi or ride-sharing service, such as Uber and Lyft.
How do I know which museums are participating in Seattle Museum Month?
Seattle Museum Month’s website gives a full list of the museums and cultural institutions participating. Some museums, like the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art and the Frye Art Museum, are free to visit all year.
This year is a special time to visit The Northwest African American Museum, as it recently reopened in January after being closed for three years due to the pandemic. Visit the museum’s new exhibit, “The Colors of Life,” which features abstract art from Northwest Black artists Vincent Keene, Shantell Jackson, Lo Mar Metoyer and Peggy Michael.
Seattle is home to one of the world’s most famous glass art museums — Chihuly Garden and Glass. Spend a few hours being stunned by the iconic work of artist Dale Chihuly. The museum is next to the Space Needle at Seattle Center, so it’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon immersing yourself in all the city offers. End your day at The Loupe Lounge, located atop the Space Needle. The lounge is the world’s first and only revolving glass floor for a cocktail. Enjoy a delicious cocktail and bites while taking in views 500 feet above the Emerald City.
Other must-visit museums and institutions include the Museum of Pop Culture, the Museum of Flight, the Henry Art Gallery, and the Seattle Art Museum (SAM).
