Seattle police arrested a man Tuesday morning after he allegedly trespassed onto several houseboats, attempted to steal a small motorboat and fell into Lake Union after attempting to steal a paddleboard.

At 5:20 a.m. Tuesday morning, Seattle police responded to reports of a burglary in the 2700 block of Westlake Avenue North.

Residents told police a man was trespassing on the docks of their houseboats.

According to police, the man threw a bicycle and ladder into the water at one house and unmoored and attempted to steal a motorboat from another.

At a third home, the man tried to steal a paddleboard but fell into the lake.

When police arrived, the man pulled himself back onto a dock, where officers arrested him for theft.

The 31-year-old man was transported to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation, then booked into the King County Jail.
