Seattle Region Wind Storm Leaves Thousands Without Power

A cold front brought rain and high winds to western Washington state on the night of January 12 and 13, the National Weather Service reported.

Gusts of 50-59 mph were recorded on the state’s coast before midnight, the NWS said. Wind speeds reached 78 mph near Longview, they said.

Over 500,000 power outages were reported in the area, the NWS said.
