SeaWorld Orlando: Howl-O-Scream tickets on sale; twin sirens lurk

SeaWorld Orlando is now selling tickets for Howl-O-Scream, the theme park’s after-hours Halloween fright fest that begins Sept. 8.

A single-night ticket to the event is priced at $37.99. There are options for unlimited admission, one for $109.99. and one with block-out dates — the eight Saturdays of the 2023 Howl-O-Scream run — for $89.99.

Visitors can opt for a two-park ticket that includes an evening at the Howl-O-Scream event at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. Go once to each park for $92.99 or go unlimited times for $164.99.

The website indicates that these are early purchase savings of up to 50%, depending on ticket. It does not indicate when prices go up, although there are marked-out figures indicating the “regular” price.

The single-night ticket is currently priced $1 more than a limited-time sale SeaWorld held in May.

It will be SeaWorld’s third year of Howl-O-Scream-ing. No haunted houses or scare zones have been identified yet, although the park has started using Frost and Flame, twin sirens, in social media promotions and on its website.

“Running from one tantalizing twin is an invitation to face the nightmarish wrath of the other, meaning no one escapes these twins alive,” reads a Twitter post with a video of the duo.

“Frost is the most sought-after and studied Siren, so to remain a muster, she possesses her hunters with her freezing touch. A kiss to her victim’s lips or forehead immediately forms ice crystals over their brain, causing them to lose all control of their own thoughts and free will,” reads her bio on the Howl-O-Scream site.

“Flame has an intensity that will light you up,” it also says. “Don’t get too close, or she’ll pull you in and with her passionate exhale, she’ll start a fire from within.”

Fine type for the event: None of the Howl-O-Scream tickets include daytime admission to the parks or parking. No costumes are allowed. It’s intended for a “mature audience,” the website notes. There will be “violence, gore and blood.” There are Howl-O-Scream ticket discounts for annual passholders. Some rides will be operating, including Ice Breaker, Mako and Manta roller coaster, according to the site FAQ. Re-entry to Howl-O-Scream is prohibited.

Howl-O-Scream at SeaWorld Orlando will be on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays plus the day before Halloween (a Monday) and Halloween (Tuesday, the final night).

SeaWorld Orlando also will hold Spooktacular, a less-horrifying Halloween event, during daytime park hours starting Sept. 16.

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, an after-hours event at Magic Kingdom, begins Aug. 11. Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights debuts Sept. 1. Tickets are on sale for those events as well.
