Sebring Local Schools administrators gave students at McKinley Jr./Sr. High School the chance to “Be the Extraordinary!” on the district’s first day of school. Last week, students watched the movie “Dolphin Tale,” which is about a young man’s friendship with a dolphin that lost its tale in a crab trap. The film deals with the themes of adversity, overcoming struggles and being extraordinary. After watching the movie, students broke into small groups to discuss the film and then paint a picture that related to the story. The movie screening was part of a two-day district effort to ease the students in both of the district’s schools back into the classroom. Each year, the district staff plans fun, educational activities for students.
